Plantar Wart vs Callus: How to Tell the Difference
A painful spot on the bottom of the foot is not always a callus. It may be a plantar wart, and the treatment path is different.
The pressure clue
Calluses usually form where shoes, bones, or foot structure create repeated pressure.
The wart clue
Plantar warts may interrupt skin lines, hurt with squeezing, or show small dark dots. They can spread if picked.
Why diagnosis matters
A pressure callus needs offloading. A wart needs wart-focused care. Treating one like the other can waste time.
