Do Custom Orthotics Help Foot Pain?

Orthotics work best when they solve a specific support or pressure problem. They work poorly when they are used as a generic answer for everything.

When orthotics make sense

They may be useful when pain comes from repeated pressure, low support, foot mechanics, or symptoms that return in the same shoes or activity.

When orthotics are not enough

They do not treat infection, wounds, severe deformity, acute injuries, or pain from a source that needs a different plan.

What to bring

Bring the shoes you wear most. Orthotics need to work with real footwear, not just look right on a counter.
